Square Punch Tile Card

It is not too often that I create a card of this size. The card measures 5 1/2" tall by 8" wide. I had an envelope to use so I made the card to fit. This card was a two part greeting. One of my card making friends is moving away and today is her birthday. You can see on the leaves that I stamped "Best Wishes" for the move. 

Now I went a little wild on materials here and my supply list below will be extensive. The one thing I would like for you to notice are the squares. The squares are made using the 1 1/4" square punch. I used alot of my scraps...you know the ones you just cant throw away? I folded the blue mat in half both ways so it would give me the center of the mat and I added my first square lining it up with the vertical and horizontal creases. I wasn't worried about the fold lines showing since I was going to glue squares over the top of the folds. 

Now with the huge size of this card I had to pick elements that wouldn't "disappear". So I chose the Quint Essential Flower stamp and stamped it in five different colors, cutting each color with a different punch (as shown in the catalog on page 110). Mojo 241 on Tuesday...

I'm only a day behind...Mojo Monday on a Tuesday. Tojo Tuesday then? When I saw the sketch, the stamp from Besty's Blossoms came to mind for the center circle. The stamp set also had the flower and leaf elements. 

These items used in this card are a sneak peak from the Stampin Up catalog coming out June 1st. 

I used two embossing folders to add lots of texture and the smaller flower and leaves are hand cut.

Added the rhinestone for sparkle.

Floral District Gable Box with Rosette

My Stampin Up order finally arrived today. I couldn't wait to see the new paper in person and make something. I made another gable box using the Floral District DSP. I used the directions found over at Split Coast Stampers...click {HERE} for the link. The paper rosette is a strip of DSP measuring 1-1/2" by 12" and scored at every 1/4". It makes a perfect size rosette for most projects. 

Here is a side view of the rosette and box.

To hold the top together, 

I used Modern Label Punch and fastened it with a silver brad. 

Used the Stampin' Around Wheel (green flowers around the bottom of the box) before assembling the box. These flowers are on all four sides.
